Jerry N. Jones

Jerry Neil Jones (November 8, 1937 in Marshall, Missouri - April 4, 2011 Columbia, Missouri)[1] was a municipal government official from Sedalia, Missouri. In 1970, he was elected on the Republican ticket as Mayor of the City of Sedalia. He defeated Democrat candidate Palmer Nichols.[2] In 1974, Jones was reelected in a landslide over Democrat candidate George Thompson, a member of the Sedalia Board of Education.[3] In 1976, he resigned as Mayor to accept a promotion with his company which required him to relocate to Columbia, Missouri.[4]

Jones was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School.[1]
