Michael kicked 9 goals on debut for Rutherglen as a 16 year old. It was an eye catching performance, and one noted by North Melbourne Football Club, who would draft him a few year later. Michael went on to wonderful careers in both football and cricket, both overshadowed somewhat when his son, Nicholas, once gave Brian Lara 9 stitches above the eye after he didn't pick a 'wrong un' in the MCG nets. | |||
