He made his Cuba national football team debut on 27 February 2019 in a friendly against Bermuda.[1]
He was later selected for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup squad.
After Cuba's 6–0 loss to Canada during CONCACAF Nations League qualifying in September, he defected into Canada.[2]
