Ganjem and Usgao from Ponda sub-division were not added to this Taluka due to opposition, and the rest were from Sanguem sub-division.[2]
Census Data 2011
There is no reliable data for the Demographics and Literacy rate in this new Sub-Division of Goa. The primary reason is because it came into existence after the 2011 census.
