Its name honours the work of renowned Australian horticulturist William Molyneux who, with his wife Sue Forrester, ran a pioneering nursery in Montrose, Victoria, that specialised in native plant breeding. Their flagship cultivar, Banksia ‘Birthday Candles’ (Banksia spinulosa cv), became the highest-selling native plant in Australia.[2]
