Ushkonyr
Ushkonyr (Kazakh: Үшқоңыр, Üşqonyr), formerly known as Shamalgan (Kazakh: Шамалған, Şamalğan) or Chemolgan, (Russian: Чемолган) is a rural community near Almaty in Kazakhstan. It is notable as the birthplace of former Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev.[1]
